What is truth of Ambedkar Bhawan Demolition?

1. Right since registration of TPIT in 1944, Aims and Objects of Trust were never fulfilled due to various constraints like court cases till 1975 and thereafter because of reservation of plot as secondary school since 1967.


2. So called Ambedkar bhavan was actually a parking area in the plan of school submitted to BMC in 1975. This parking area was being temporarily used as marriage hall and for meetings as well for political offices.


3. This was contrary to the aims and objects of the Trust as well as against the Vision of Babasaheb.


4. SO WHAT WAS DEMOLISHED WAS NOT AMBEDKAR BHAVAN BUT PARKING AREA OF A NON-EXISTENT SCHOOL BUILDING BEING TEMPORARILY USED FOR WEDDING ETC AND A SITE OFFICE CONSTRUCTED TO FACILITATE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDING OF TRUST AS DREAMT BY BABASAHEB.


5. The present Trustees who are mostly new, succeeded in getting reservation of plot changed from school to Public hall and institutional use in December,2015 which enabled Trust to prepare 17 storied plan of REAL AMBEDKAR BHAVAN and approval to the plan was received from BMC in April 2016. Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis announced full financial support to the project in a function to launch construction of Ambedkar bhavan on 14 th April,2016.


6. In the meanwhile, BMC issued notice under section 354 of BMC Act to the Trust to demolish the existing building (Actually parking area) and served notices on all occupants and Trust. Trust therefore publicized widely demolition action it intended to take in newspapers as well as various notices issued from time to time to Ambedkar brothers. Presentation of new building plan also was made to Bhimrao Ambedkar as other two brothers didn't respond for presentation. Trust was however legally bound to demolish the building as directed by BMC.


7. It is the duty of the Trust to fulfill its Aims and Objects. Unfortunately, this duty could not be performed by the Trust so far and when Trust has sorted out all outstanding issues, all citizens who believe in principles of Justice, Liberty, Equality and fraternity to come forward and support the pious cause during the 125 th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar.To fulfill the dream of COMMAND CENTER FOR LIBERATION OF 300 MILLION SC-ST will be the real tribute to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar as he appealed the FOLLOWERS"MAZHYA NAVACHA JAIJAIKAR KARNYAPEKSHA TUMHI MALA APEKSHIT KARYA PURNA KARA".This dream tower of 17 story will be step towards that direction.
